What the service includes
A Root Touch-up at Golden Soul Salon is a single-process service that targets new growth only. Every appointment begins with a consultation, followed by color applied to the regrowth area, a shampoo, and a professional style. The service focuses on refreshing the visible root line rather than redoing color on the full length of the hair.
During the consultation your stylist assesses the contrast between your natural regrowth and existing color and reviews hair condition. The team’s goal is to integrate the new color seamlessly into the rest of your hair while protecting hair health; this combination of assessment, targeted application, shampoo and styling is built into the touch-up experience.
How color matching works
Our colorists match formulas to your existing color and skin tone so the regrowth blends naturally. Clients frequently remark that precise matching and careful blending make touch-ups hard to detect. Technicians consult about your color history, choose an appropriate formula, then apply it deliberately at the root to maintain continuity with previously colored lengths.
If contrast, fading, or previous techniques make a simple root application insufficient, your stylist may recommend small adjustments during the consult. The single-process touch-up is designed as a maintenance step; when more extensive changes are needed the stylist will outline options so you can decide what level of refresh suits your goals.
When to schedule touch-ups
Timing a touch-up is driven by your hair growth, contrast between natural and dyed color, and lifestyle. Golden Soul sees higher demand in May, November and December ahead of summer and holiday seasons, so we recommend booking early during those months. We offer extended evening appointments to accommodate commuters and evening plans along South Lamar and MoPac.
We also welcome quick, walk-in friendly visits when availability allows — a helpful option for busy young professionals and parents balancing work and social life. If you’re visiting Zilker Park, Barton Springs or shopping on South Congress, consider scheduling before or after a local outing to minimize extra trips.
