Nicole was there for me and saw me at a time I felt most low in my life. She helped me remove the color from my hair for court for a trial against someone who assaulted me. It was an incredibly difficult experience, as I did not want to change this very important part of my appearance that I had as a part of me for nearly 10 years. She was so patient and kind and understanding with me and the fact that what I was doing was an upsetting experience for me, and she also wanted to help me to feel good about how I looked after.

I had to try Golden Soul Salon after hearing rave reviews from my sister and mom. They both cut and styled their hair with Nicole, and although they have completely different hair types, Nicole managed to make them both look fabulous! I've been wanting to cut my long curly hair into a 90s lob for a while now, and I decided to do it with Nicole. I was nervous bc I didn't know if she could achieve the look I wanted given my hair texture and the amount of hair I have (A LOT!). Nicole listened to everything I wanted and gave me the spitting image of the hair inspo pic I gave her! It takes a skilled stylist to blowout my hair well, and she gave me the shiniest-smoothest-looking blowout that has not frizzed AT ALL and it's been 2 days and the weather has been humid! I went here for a couple of years and would definitely recommend it. The stylists are all cool, genuine, and inclusive, and the space is always clean and inviting. The darker shampoo room is such a nice touch—it actually makes that part of the experience relaxing.

this haircut was the best experience i’ve ever had!! from the hair washing experience to the actual cutting and styling- even paying was super easy. i went from long raggedy hair to shorter than i’ve had in 15 years. best. decision. ever.

I took too long to write this review, but Melissa gave me THE best bob haircut I have ever had in my life. So good in fact, that even after washing and styling it myself it still does exactly what I want to do. Absolutely amazing. The salon itself is very comfortable and clean, and the front desk attendant/receptionist was very friendly as well. I wish they had, maybe, a seating area for guests to sit, but for the price and quality I would sit and wait on the sidewalk. And they validate parking :’)...more

I went to Golden Soul for the very first time and let me tell you… the moment I walked in I felt such an earthy vibe and felt so welcomed.

I booked with Melissa and she was extremely nice. I showed her my inspiration photos and that I was ready for my transformation cut. She was so excited which made me super excited too! I loved her enthusiasm with getting this cut. She walked me throughout the process which I really liked.

One part that was so different than other salons was the hair wash area. You walk in and immediately felt at peace. I could seriously sleep in there.

Overall, Melissa did an amazing job! Everyone loved the haircut once I was done. I felt soooo great leaving the salon! I’m definitely coming back and recommending to all my friends!...more

I’m not a super girly girl and hair salons honestly scare me but Golden Soul is exactly what didn’t know I needed. It feels like such a safe space.

Super easy to book online, great communication before hand preparing me for my first visit plus a day of text message to explain parking (it’s like they somehow knew I get parking anxiety)

Abby was incredible, down to earth and authentic & a great listener. I didn’t feel forced to talk the entire time either. Really relaxed and at ease which I don’t normally feel at other salons!

LOVE this place! What I wanted for color: bright in the front, low maintenance, complimenting my rosy skin. For cut: low maintenance, subtle layers, suitable for thin but coarse hair. (Not the easiest combo) Javier and Ellie did a fantastic job with the color and cut, took a lot of time to make sure they knew exactly what I was looking for, and were incredibly personable and professional. Great experience 100% worth the price and will be back soon :)

Edit: this happened when they fit me in extremely last minute (30 in advance), I completely fell asleep in the wash room, and I walked in with chopped up greasy hair - I needed a refresh so badly and there was no judgement - was so grateful they were able to find the time....more

I have been going to Golden Soul for over 10 years. I’m a twice annual basic cut girly, except for this one time when I got some subtle fall low lights & highlights. Nicole & her team are thoughtful, caring and provide the utmost quality customer service to make you feel comfortable. Not only are they lovely people, they are incredibly talented hair professionals. At GS you can get anything from basic cuts & perfect natural colors, to weird, wild and wonderful (I’ve seen it all) there is someone on their team who can do it for you. These days, it’s a bit hard to tell if the photo is of a hair coloring or haircut service, but after much research on Yelp and Instagram, I was able to narrow down my top choices and ended up booking a haircut appointment with Abby Brown ($80). The salon is thoughtfully decorated and was giving boho vibes.

Upon check-in, they asked if I parked in the garage since they have a parking validation QR code, and if I wanted anything to drink. I was surprised they offered wine, and the white wine I got was the perfect level of sweetness for me.

After being seated, Abby came over and started our consultation, asking me what I had in mind and gave me recommendations on my bangs. I have thin, flat hair, so we went with a long layered hairstyle with curtain bangs. Afterwards, she walked me to the back to the shampoo area.

Like everyone else, I loved the shampoo area—it's dark green and moody with chill music and fake plants hanging from the ceiling, so you feel like you're laying in nature. It’s super tranquil, especially when the scalp massage starts. I liked the Davines products they used; my scalp had a light tingling sensation and felt really clean, and the all-in-one milk made my hair smell so good.

We walked back to the chair and she confirmed the length before she started cutting away. She took her time, making sure both sides were even. When she was close to finishing, she asked me how I wanted my hair styled. I went with the blowout since it was quicker and it looked like the reference pictures I showed her. Abby knows how to work a round brush with the Dyson blow dryer and really accentuated all the layers she gave me.

It was pouring when I was done with my haircut, so they were nice enough to let me out through the back door that leads to the garage where my husband picked me up. I came in to get a blowout with Javi and it was the best experience I’ve had in a salon. Immediately when I walked in the ambience was beautiful, from all the cute plants, the feel good mirrors (they all had cute affirmations), down to the serene smell. I can not recommend Kendi enough for fashion colors. I have dark black hair and I've dyed my hair a lot over the years but never a blue color. So went in for a strand test to try to do teal and she advised me that in order to keep my hair healthy we should do a pink or purple to eventually get to blue and teal. I love honesty like this from my stylist because she's making sure my hair stays healthy. So we go in and lighten my hair and it lifts enough to where she created something even more amazing than I originally imagined. I was so pleased and won't go anywhere else now for color.

Still in love with Golden Soul salon! I have continued coming to Golden Soul for haircuts. The hairstylist I used to see is no longer there, but I most recently had a haircut with Paulina Riewald and she was amazing! My haircut turned out exactly how I wanted and she was very attuned to my requests on length/style etc. I will definitely be recommending Paulina to my friends and anyone else-she’s excellent!! Golden Soul in general continues to be a beautiful, calming place-every time I go it feels like the ultimate self-care day!

I just kind of stumbled upon Golden Soul because it’s close to where I live..and got so lucky! Golden Soul is the best! Literally felt like I was in a spa as soon as I walked in. My stylist was Kristy Jalbert-she’s amazing-super kind, professional and talented-definitely knows her craft very well! It’s been like 3-4 months since my haircut and I’m still obsessed with it. Favorite salon I’ve ever been to. They listen and do whatever they can to accomplish what you want with YOUR hair. Nicole and Roxy have both done my hair- they are both amazing, sweet, and talented.
The products they use are high quality, smell gosh darn delicious, and they don’t “guilt” you into purchasing (I have felt this other places).

She knows my hair so well and I trust her completely. The once or twice (in over 4 years) something has bothered me, she has found time to change it to make it exactly what I want. We all know the hardest part about moving is finding a new salon. I asked a few friends around and one recommended Benjamin Beau because she had a coworker with blonde highlights (like me) that goes there. I was able to get a last minute appointment for a cut and it was amazing. I see Debbie and she does an amazing job throughout the whole haircut and always leaves me feeling beautiful and refreshed.

I now get my hair highlighted and cut there every 6-8 weeks and go in for a shampoo and style for special events. The shampoo experience there is so relaxing that I'd rather get a shampoo and style than a pedicure if I'm looking for a relaxing experience. I get tons of compliments on my hair and am never disappointed.

Not only is their staff courteous and very aware of their customers needs, but the talent pool that Benjamin has put together is truly astounding. My stylist, Dane, is nothing short of a wizard. Benjamin Beau is an excellent salon! I was booked out a couple of weeks and they put me on the cancellation list. I was called within a couple of days and Dane did an amazing job with my color and cut. My hair was fried and damaged after having my baby but he made my hair look alive again. Moving here from NYC and having access to the best services, I definitely struggled here a bit. The environment is awesome and everyone exceeded my expectations. From being greeted by Winter and getting all the 411 on the latest and greatest in the Austin area, I will definitely be a regular. I’ve been to so many salons and no one seems to know how to turn my hair blonde. I would need multiple visits and would have to live with orange hair for two weeks at a time until they could get it blonde (and it wasn’t cheap). Dane and crew were able to get my hair exactly the color and style I wanted my hair in about two hours with no damage. They are the best salon for color....more

I cannot say enough about this salon...from the customer service to the talent and of course, WALLACE the shop dog...what isnt to love? I started going to BB and seeing Dane when I had been fed up with every other salon in Austin about a year ago. Dane listens to what you want, but knows when its appropriate to deliver his professional opinion. Julia and Nicole did my hair and makeup for my wedding in October and I was such a happy bride. I LOVE going to Benjamin Beau! They always go above and beyond your expectations. When you walk in you are greeted by friendly and welcoming staff and all the stylists are exceptional. I've actually been to three different stylists since it first opened, and I won't go anywhere else, ven when I moved to North Austin! Nicole (co-owner) is an amazing stylist. I love Dane's head massages. I've recently started going to Debbie and I love her calming demeanor. There are wonderful stylists at all price points. They have also given me so many awesome tricks and tips for my hair.

The first thing that truly sets them apart from other salons is they take the time to listen. The second thing is they always provide a memorable experience. Beau and Nicole have created a wonderful salon and I am so thankful to have found them!...more

I had a great first experience at Benjamin Beau. The set up of the salon is awesome. They have a shampoo/rinse area that has dimmed lights, aromatherapy and you get a scalp/neck massage which was amazing. The color bar is a little circle conversation area and you can see your color getting mixed up. You can choose to chat with those getting color or not. But it's a nice option. And then Nicole. I can't say enough good things about her. I had a consult with her and we talked about what I liked and didn't like. I felt like we were friends just chatting away. She listened to what I wanted and had some suggestions. Since I don't live in Austin and was following her on Instagram she wanted to make sure I had a great experience. I have to say, it was awesome! I loved my experience there. It really makes me wish they were in the Dallas area!...more

I trust the stylists at this salon with all of my hair needs, be it style, cut, color, or product recommendations. Dane has always done an amazing job giving me exactly what I had in mind, even when I couldn't put into words what the style was. I show him a few pictures, point out what I like, and come out of there feeling like a star! Even if I go home and after a few days find a few things that I want to change, they always get me in quickly and do great work to get it to exactly what I had in mind.

The wash room is awesome too, this is the best massage treatment I've ever had included with a wash at any Paul Mitchell salon. Again, they really know what they're doing!!

I recommend Benjamin Beau Salon to everyone who loves feeling pampered and like to feel connected with their stylist. I won't be visiting any other salon in Austin, if you go there once you'll understand why!!...more

Today was, hands down, the best hair salon experience I can remember. From Crystal booking my appointment yesterday, to my tour around the salon with Kat (water with cucumber and lemon? You have my heart forever), to my consultation, shampoo (and amazing neck / back massage!), and fabulous cut with Nicole - it was wonderful. Nicole took the time to listen to my concerns, make suggestions, talk me through what she thought would flatter my face and style the best... Can't remember the last time I left a hair appointment so happy! Will be recommending you all to everyone I know!...more
