I’ve been seeing Nicole for over 10 years, and she’s so much more than just a stylist — she’s become a true friend. Her salon is warm, inviting, and full of the kind of energy that makes you feel instantly at ease. I happily drive 35 minutes from the suburbs because it’s always worth it — not just for the beautiful hair, but for the whole experience.

Nicole and her team are incredibly talented, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about their clients. You can tell they pour their hearts into what they do. The space is gorgeous, the finishing touches are thoughtful, and the scalp massages? Next level. Once you find your person, you find your person — and for me, that’s Nicole.

I love Golden Soul Salon! I go to Hannah and I’ve sent all of my friends to her or honestly any of the stylist there. Hannah always does a great job and she truly cares about her clients. I always get compliments on my hair!

I have been going to this salon for over 14 years(before this beautiful journey began)I love the experience, the relationships, and the vibe and ofcourse the work!!! Had a lovely time with Abby Brown. She made me feel welcome and checked for gluten in the products as I have Celiac disease. I paid 80 total which included a lovely wash, blow dry, cut, and curl. Highly recommend her and this salon.

I Absolutely love Golden Soul Salon. Javier gave me my first ever proper hair color ever. He was attentive, actively listened to my needs and wants. The vibe is immaculate and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. My hair was lifeless and I walked out with amazing hair, color. The shampoo room is my favorite  place ever, so relaxing and healing the massage during shampoo is everything. I absolutely love this salon and especially my hair stylist, Javier. I used to see Ellie over 10 years ago, before she moved to NYC. When she left, I was honestly so sad, I truly thought I’d never find anyone who cared about my hair goals the way she did. I did eventually find someone else, but it never felt quite the same. My hair just never gave me that same “wow” feeling I always had after leaving Ellie’s chair.

Cut to 2025—Ellie is back in Austin, and I feel whole again! I can’t say enough good things about her at Golden Soul Salon. From the moment I sat down, I felt so comfortable and genuinely cared for. She took the time to really listen to what I wanted, and the end result was perfect. My hair turned out exactly how I hoped, and I’m completely in love with it.

Everyone at the salon was so kind and welcoming, from the front desk to the other stylists, but Ellie made the whole experience feel extra special. I walked out not only with amazing hair, but also feeling refreshed and happy. I’m beyond grateful she’s back. I’ll absolutely be returning again and again!

The whole experience was amazing from start to finish! The salon was everything you’d expect from a high-end salon, but the atmosphere was much more welcoming and friendly (while still being very relaxing) than any other salon I’ve been to! I felt very free to exist as myself there. My stylist was Melissa. I felt that she truly listened to what I wanted and was very accommodating of any adjustments throughout the cut. She is a lovely human being and made me feel cared for and comfortable. 10/10 Golden Soul!! I will certainly be back soon!

The best color specialist I’ve found. Nicole’s skills with color are off the charts.

Noting feels better than coming home to golden soul. The vibes the space is immaculate, it’s so warm and welcoming Don’t get me started on the shampoo room, which is one of my favorite places. I have Anxiety disorder that makes me scared of entering new spaces. I’ve never felt more  Comfortable from the first time I stepped in October 2024, I specifically have my hair done by Nicole She listens Intentlyand collaborates Intuitively and educates me specially, with the Wild course curly hair I have and  I’ve learned so much. I have and i always  leave that chair with my heart full and That feeling of Oh my God, I feel like me again.

Ellie is the absolute best! I have been traumatized by many bad haircuts in the past, and Ellie did not let me down. I showed her lots of pictures and explained to her what I wanted, and she gave me exactly what I asked for. I couldn’t recommend this place (and Ellie) enough, especially for queer folks! 💖🌈

Melissa is an angel! She transformed my hair and I get constant compliments. I had major anxiety when I met her because I’ve had so many tough hair salon experiences in the past. She was very validating of my fears but also made great recommendations. She was kind but  realistic!!! I love my hair and will be back!

Ellie was wonderful. She made sure I was comfortable the entirety of the appointment. She educated me well on my hair type/porosity, how to prioritize my products, and answered all my questions without leaving any confusion. The curly style came out wonderfully. Golden Soul is lucky to have her. Also, the front desk individual (sorry not good with names) was very friendly, helpful, and welcoming as well. Cheers!

I’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences getting my hair cut and colored here. After years of not going to a salon because I always felt overwhelmed and uncomfortable getting my hair done, I gave Golden Soul a try and it changed my whole perspective. The staff is always very welcoming and helpful. Hannah does a beautiful job with my hair, and always makes me feel comfortable and confident.

I have been seeing Abby for the last few months and she is the greatest! She does great color, gives the best hair massage during washing, and literally does the best blowouts I’ve ever had. I will be a client for a long time!!

Golden Soul Salon is honestly a total gem. I’d been hunting for a place that checked all my boxes: not just a barbershop, can absolutely nail a modern cut on longer men’s hair, does gorgeous color, and has that fresh, welcoming, modern vibe.

From my very first visit, I knew I’d found the right spot. The location’s easy to get to, the interior is funky but still super inviting, and even the bathroom decor made me smile (seriously, you’ve gotta see it for yourself).

Javier was fantastic, and the whole team had the exact cool, friendly energy I was hoping for. And the hair-washing room? That was just another layer of how much I loved the space. Big applause to the crew—I’m so glad I found you.

I've had two great haircuts from Abby! The vibe here is upscale and trendy but relaxed and unpretentious. I like the products they use (davines and Paul Mitchell), and find it more relaxing to visit this salon than most others. They seem to value the total experience of the service rather than just the end result, which helps me justify the high cost (comparable to any downtown salon).

Had a great experience with the salon and my stylist Javier. Staff were welcoming and helpful. I was a new client and Javier did a great job listening to my needs. I would absolutely recommend them for a curly hair cut. The shampoo and scalp massage was sooooo good. My hair looks great and I’m excited to come back in the future!

Nicole and her salon are amazing! The environment and lovely humans that work there make you feel welcomed and taken care of the minute you walk in the door. That, and their skills are FIRE. These days, it’s a bit hard to tell if the photo is of a hair coloring or haircut service, but after much research on Yelp and Instagram, I was able to narrow down my top choices and ended up booking a haircut appointment with Abby Brown ($80). The salon is thoughtfully decorated and was giving boho vibes.

Upon check-in, they asked if I parked in the garage since they have a parking validation QR code, and if I wanted anything to drink. I was surprised they offered wine, and the white wine I got was the perfect level of sweetness for me.

After being seated, Abby came over and started our consultation, asking me what I had in mind and gave me recommendations on my bangs. I have thin, flat hair, so we went with a long layered hairstyle with curtain bangs. Afterwards, she walked me to the back to the shampoo area.

Like everyone else, I loved the shampoo area—it's dark green and moody with chill music and fake plants hanging from the ceiling, so you feel like you're laying in nature. It’s super tranquil, especially when the scalp massage starts. I liked the Davines products they used; my scalp had a light tingling sensation and felt really clean, and the all-in-one milk made my hair smell so good.

We walked back to the chair and she confirmed the length before she started cutting away. She took her time, making sure both sides were even. When she was close to finishing, she asked me how I wanted my hair styled. I went with the blowout since it was quicker and it looked like the reference pictures I showed her. Abby knows how to work a round brush with the Dyson blow dryer and really accentuated all the layers she gave me.

It was pouring when I was done with my haircut, so they were nice enough to let me out through the back door that leads to the garage where my husband picked me up. Note: Metropolis charges you the moment you drive through, so scan the validation QR code before you leave or inform Golden Soul Salon and they will waive the fee.

Nicole and Javier are amazing. Such a great experience from the beginning. Javier cut my hair and I’m obsessed. He literally sculpted my hair into a perfect curly mullet. The vibes at Golden Soul Salon are very accepting, warm, and chill. 10/10 recommend!

I’ve been going to Melissa for 5 years and wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair. I recently decided to go short for the first time ever—cutting off 6 inches & aiming for ‘90s style layers with curtain bangs—and she completely nailed it. Melissa is a perfectionist who truly cares about the details, and the results speak for themselves. The salon is gorgeous, and the quiet-zone wash station with a sound bath is next-level relaxing (you might even fall asleep!). Highly recommend Melissa + Golden Soul Salon❤️

I loved my experience at Golden Soul Salon! I was in desperate need of a haircut and they fit me in as a walk in. Javier was really fantastic. Probably one of the best head massages during the shampoo that I’ve ever had. I enjoyed my time there and my hair looks great!

I love this salon. I’m leaving Austin and in the efforts of leaving everything better than I found it, imo, I want to give reviews to places that really made a difference to me. I love this Salon. The owner is a great human with an attitude and smile that’s contagious. Everyone she employs seems to appreciate her and the job they have and do. The shampoo room. It’s amazing. Dark, plants and relaxing. And they carry vegan products. Which for me, is top tier. I’d recommend this salon to anyone solely based on vibe and appearance and the way it’s ran. Top notch.

I came in to get a blowout with Javi and it was the best experience I’ve had in a salon. Immediately when I walked in the ambience was beautiful, from all the cute plants, the feel good mirrors (they all had cute affirmations), down to the serene smell. I was greeted with nothing but good energy by my stylist, the salon manager Madeline, and the salon owner Nicole. I felt so comfortable from the get go!

Now let me tell yall, the wash house was an experience of its own! I’ve never felt so relaxed getting my hair washed before. The relaxing music, the lighting, the aromatherapy was all a vibe!!! I was even given a hot towel while processing with a deep conditioning treatment.

Javi gave me the BEST blowout! He was so sweet and attentive. I left the salon looking and feeling sooooo good. 10/10 recommend and will 1000% be coming back!

This was my first time at Golden Soul and my soul literally felt nourished here. It was an honor to have my hair done by Abby who was so sweet and attentive to my service and needs. She took time to hear my hair vision and offered suggestions based on my ideas.

I chose a full balayage plus a very needed cut. I also got curtain bangs for the first time! It took about 5 hours but I LOVED how my hair turned out!!

The salon itself is so aesthetically pleasing, offering an airy vibe with plants and even a zen/meditation hair washing room with plants on the ceiling.

Parking is free/validated for 4.5 hours which is nice. NOTE: If your service does exceed that time you will be charged after that time frame.

Hannah did an AMAZING job on my hair. From the time I sat down until the time I left, I felt so heard and I could tell that Hannah genuinely wanted to give me a haircut that I loved. She took the time to listen to my concerns and learn about my hair texture. She is so knowledgeable! She fully blew me away. I have had many haircuts and I can safely, easily, say without any exaggeration, this was the best haircut of my life. I keep getting compliments on it. My third haircut here this year and I'm finally posting. This salon is so cozy and intentional. I got an amazing haircut that really fits my lifestyle / habits / skill level.

They really listen to you and adjust based off what you say, but also willing to offer opinion or advice. I got a darker gloss this last time and WOW I never knew I could love my hair this much.

Oh they also use Davines products which I love and can be hard to find in stores.

Kendi is my girl! I never gotten highlights before but I absolutely love the final result of my hair. We even tweaked somethings during our second session to even customize it further and its all thanks to kendis attention to detail. I also love the conversations we have in the chair. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a change.

If you want to get your hair done in a salon that feels like a breath of fresh air look no further. I have been to several hair salons where I feel overstimulated, the service feels rushed and I don’t feel cared for but I have to say it was the complete opposite. I scheduled my appointment with Rachel and she did amazing and took great care of my hair. The last thing I will say (I saved the best for last), I absolutely love getting my hair washed and my experience with Rachel changed my life lol. So amazing!! 💗

Kendi is pure magic! She’s been doing my hair for 7 years now and I refuse to have anyone else color my hair.
As a latina having thick healthy hair is essential and she has always been able to keep my hair that way, even though my hair is bleached. My curls look their best right after we color my hair and it lasts me so long that we only do it twice a year.

I had the pleasure of getting my hair cut and permed by Nicole and my hair looked so good it got me laid later. 100/10 recommend. As for the service itself, Nicole took the time to explain to me what she was doing and made me feel very comfortable. When she was styling my hair she also talked me through how to best style it which is usually what I’ve felt was lacking at other salons. She was friendly and really listened to what I wanted and made recommendations based on her years of experience to find something that best suits me and my hair. I’ve never been to a salon where every single person that worked there was really friendly and where I felt educated and wasn’t intimidated. Thank you so much!!

Kendi at Golden Soul Salon is my GO TO for hair braiding in Austin! Not only is she super talented but also extremely kind and friendly. I always get so many compliments on my braids, and the styles last a week (or more!) when I go to camping music festivals! I highly recommend seeing Kendi!

sitting in malorie's chair is a peak life experience. she makes you feel so at ease from the moment you meet her to the moment you leave with amazing hair. she delivered on so many levels and is incredibly talented— my hair looks like a dream come true! everyone in the shop is so, so kind and welcoming and i literally cannot wait until my next appointment.

Malorie, my stylist, recently permanently moved her services to the Golden Soul Salon from East Texas.  Her description of the salon did not do it justice.  It is an open space, with lots of ambient light and positive sayings on each stylist's mirror.  The room where hair washes are conducted is a true spa experience.  It made my soul happy to be there and I look forward to my next visit.

So happy to have found this place! Malorie gave me the best haircut I have ever had. I left feeling so good and it was exactly what I hoped for. The salon was wonderful, too. Hannah is AMAZING! She always has me leaving with the darkest jet black hair of my dreams! And I'm soo in awe of the haircut she gave me. 🖤 She's amazing to talk to and is so invested in creating a wonderful experience while you're in her chair. 10/10 for Kendi Villa. Kendi has been my stylist for almost 3 years now. She is very attentive, knowledgeable, and has her clients’ best interests at heart. She truly just wants each of her clients to look and feel their best. Even as a regular client, at the start of each appointment, she sits down with me to go over what we’re doing that day, and we discuss my overall hair goals and progress. She is extremely well-versed in blonding (which is huge for me) and vivid colors (temporary, semi-permanent, etc.) as well. She understands the science behind it all and she will take the time to explain it to you in a way you can understand. She is also very open about her recommendations and will give you honest opinions/advice, which I appreciate. Beyond all of her professional qualities as a hairstylist, she is a sweetheart. I'm grateful to have a stylist I trust and can depend on; I cannot recommend her more. You will walk out of your appointment feeling refreshed, like a pampered and improved you!

I arrived in Austin for a vacation and my daughter met me at the airport and asked what had happened to my hair. I had had it cut a few days before my trip. It was a really bad cut. My daughter made an appt with Rachel who patiently studied the cut and then recut it. It was fantastic! Rachel made it look great!  If I lived in Austin she would be my new stylist.

I have been going to Hannah at Golden Soul officially for a year now and can whole heartedly say that I look forward to each and every appointment! Having relocated last year after living in London for nearly 18 years, it’s safe to say I had my ‘hair lady’, my ‘nail lady’ and all beauty ladies in between. So having to find my ‘new ladies’ was a big thing, but when I found Hannah, I knew she was my new ‘hair lady’ from the first appointment. She made me feel so welcome, listened to what I previously had done and what I wanted moving forwards, and then made it happen! I can honestly say that Hannah has transformed my hair. I am so thankful to have found Hannah and recommend her tenfold.

Malorie was my hairstylist when I decided to go from dirty blonde to chocolate brown, and she did PHENOMENAL!! Not only did she produce the perfect shade I showed her, but she is so kind and funny. We talked the entire time - never a dull moment. I genuinely enjoyed being in her company and cannot wait for my next appointment! <3

I had a wonderful experience with Malorie, who made my hair look exactly like my inspiration pictures :) She was extremely detail oriented and the color turned out BEAUTIFUL. She also gave me the option of how I wanted my hair styled and she gave me beautiful beach waves. I will absolutely be going back!

Absolutely loooved the way my hair came out! I went from virgin hair to trying to lighten my color over the period of a year and wasn’t happy with the results I was getting. Ended up booking with Zoe and we decided a balayage with low lights and a cut would bring my hair back to life while I grew it out to its natural color. I’m so pleased with the results! This was definitely worth the 5 o'clock traffic I had to face on my way home. I came in for a much needed hair refresh and got the cutest curtain bangs by Courtney. I loved the vibe there, it was so relaxing and fun. I plan on going back

With over 18 years of experience, Nicole is the Founder of Golden Soul Salon and specializes in helping guests determine what they're looking for to create a hair color and style that are customized to truly fit their lifestyle.

Growing up in a small town outside of Detroit, Michigan Nicole knew she wanted as much as the industry had to offer — which led to her moving away from Romeo, Michigan and starting her career in Chicago 2008. Working with mentorship she was able to complete an extensive training program that led to her passion in education and sharing knowledge with others. Nicole continued to grow within that company becoming the Salon Director of the Chicago location and eventually the Educational Director of the entire company. In that, she created and taught an apprentice program to multiple salon locations across the country on a weekly basis.

She has been a platform artist on stage at the International Beauty Show of America, Paul Mitchell Caper and America's Beauty Show. Nicole has also styled hair for multiple editorial photoshoots that have been in print and worked with celebrities such as Lena Olin, Geoff Stults, James Cassells and Joe Mangianello.

Now residing in Austin since 2013, Nicole proudly owns a salon at the iconic intersection of S Lamar and Barton Springs. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and using what she has learned to mentor others, leading her team to success. Rebranding her salon space during the pandemic of 2020 she came back with more determination than ever. Accepting guests 3 days a week, Nicole’s focus is now heavily on the business and providing her team with everything they need to provide an incredible salon experience.

Outside of the salon Nicole enjoys spending time with her dogs (3 basset hounds), tending to her rare houseplant collection, loves traveling + photography, as a survivor is very passionate about mental health and being an ally to the LGBTQ2S+ and BIPOC community.

Hannah was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She started her career in the beauty industry upon completing cosmetology school at 18. Once licensed, she apprenticed for a year before transitioning into becoming a full-time stylist and taking guests.

In August 2022, she found her new home at Golden Soul Salon in Austin, Texas and hasn't looked back since. Hannah specializes in Vivid Colors, Balayage, Brunettes, and Lived-in Color. She loves anything color, from rainbows to chocolates and is always ready to create magic behind the chair. 

She deeply believes in empowering guests to feel their best by educating them on how best to take care of their hair. Out of the salon you'll catch Hannah at all the live music shows in Austin, head banging away. She spends her free time cuddling with her three dogs, Lucy, Ludo and Blizzard. She's also in the process of exploring Austin and seeing all that the city has to offer.

Born and raised in Texas and calling Austin home since 2016, Javi brings over a decade of passion, precision, and personality to the chair. What began with self-taught braiding skills quickly spiraled into a full-blown love affair with hair, and he hasn’t looked back since beauty school. With 11 years in the industry, Javi still approaches every head of hair like it’s his first—full of curiosity, care, and creativity.
Javi is known for creating a safe, relaxed, and joy-filled space where you can fully express yourself. Whether you’re craving a transformation or just need a reset, he’s here to hype you up and bring your hair goals to life. His signature blowouts are what dreams are made of, but trust—he can slay any look with style and finesse.
These days, Javi is all about helping you tap into your “main character” moment—think effortless glam, confidence-boosting energy, and hair that turns heads (and maybe breaks a few hearts). Outside the salon, you’ll find him buried in a good book, vibing to music, or tending to his lush jungle of plants.

Melissa — also known as moonlight.nymph on IG -is a born-and-raised Austinite who specializes in blowouts, haircuts, and sew-in weft extension services. She’s passionate about creating styles that feel authentic to each person and reflect who they truly are.
For Melissa, being a stylist is more than just doing hair — it’s about holding space for people through all phases of life, and she feels deeply honored to be part of that journey.
When she’s not behind the chair, you’ll find her at music festivals, exploring in nature, or spending time with her soul family and her husky, Jade.

Originally from Lowell, Massachusetts, Abby Brown brings a fresh and creative energy to the Austin hair scene! Abby has been doing hair for about two years. She is passionate about helping clients feel completely comfortable and confident during every appointment. Whether she’s crafting effortless lived-in color or bold, head-turning vivids, her goal is to create styles that make each client feel beautiful and confident.

Known for her warm, down-to-earth vibe, Abby believes that a salon visit should feel like self-care. Relaxing, personal, and fun. She takes the time to listen, understand each client’s vision, and create a space where people feel genuinely seen and cared for. Whether you’re coming in for a subtle refresh or a bold transformation, Abby’s priority is making sure you leave feeling confident, understood, and truly yourself, with a look that fits your life and makes you feel amazing.
When she’s not at the salon, Abby is hanging out with her two cats or exploring the outdoors. She’s currently taking new clients and would love to help you feel your best, inside and out.
